How to open an IFC file without Revit

Someone sent you an .ifc and you have no Revit, no Navisworks, nothing installed. You don't need it: IFC is an open format and you can open it in your browser in under a minute — no account, and the file never leaves your device.

  1. Go to geomaifc.com/app from any browser — Chrome, Safari, Edge; an iPad works too.
  2. Drag the .ifc onto the drop zone, or click and pick it. IFC2x3, IFC4 and IFC4x3 are supported, and several files at once.
  3. In seconds you get every element in a spreadsheet-like table: type, name, GUID and all its properties and Psets. Filter by text, type or property.
  4. Press 3D View → Load 3D to see the model in three dimensions: orbit, section, measure and inspect properties by tapping any element.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Geoma processes the IFC locally in your browser (WebAssembly). Nothing goes out to the internet — which matters when the model is under NDA or belongs to a public contract.

What if I need more than just looking at it?

With the same file open you can measure distances and areas, pull quantities to Excel, edit properties in batch, merge several IFC files or export to DXF. Viewing and measuring are free; the rest unlocks with a licence from €19/month.
